Which version should I choose - Classic, Classic + RC or RC & Sound?

The lighting is identical, so you are really choosing how you want to control it. Every tier of the same kit contains the same number of LEDs and the same pre-planned placement:

Classic runs from the included battery box or a USB lead,

Classic + RC adds a remote that works up to about 10 m and can pair with several kits at once,

and the RC & Sound version adds a sound module with built-in scene music that you can also load your own tracks onto. Choose the tier by control and effects, never by brightness.

Some of our most popular castles have been re-released with revised light kits, so the same LEGO set number can sit next to more than one version - you will see Ver. 2 and Ver. 3 listings alongside the original, plus a Bright Version for Hogwarts Castle #71043. These are kit generations, not different LEGO sets: the newer generation uses an updated layout and improved coverage. Match both the set number and the version named in the product title to your build.

You can light up a castle that is already built - only a little refitting is needed, and no circuit experience is required. The LEDs and twisted-pair cabling are routed through gaps that already exist between the bricks, so nothing is glued, cut or permanently modified, and the thin wiring keeps the model looking clean from the front. Every kit ships with a PDF instruction guide, and if you would rather light the build from the ground up, the same steps work during assembly. The kit is the lighting only - the LEGO castle itself is sold separately.
