ZENE Bricks LEGO X-Mansion 76294 light kit separates the public house from the hidden school. The ground-floor rooms take a warm, domestic light, the upper bedrooms are softer, and Cerebro gets a cold blue glow that spills into the corridor. The Danger Room receives a harder red-orange light, and the Sentinel's eyes are given a narrow white point so the machine reads as a threat even in a dark room.

The X-Mansion is the home and school of the X-Men, a large New York estate that hides a training facility, a medical bay, a jet and a man with the most powerful mind on the planet. It first appeared in 1963, and it has been destroyed, rebuilt and remodelled many times since. The building matters because it is not a headquarters in the corporate sense. It is a house for young people who have been rejected everywhere else, and the domestic details are as important as the Danger Room.

LEGO X-Mansion 76294 is based on X-Men '97, the animated revival that brought the team back to its 1990s visual language. The 3,093-piece model is a three-storey mansion with a removable roof and floors, ten minifigures, a brick-built Sentinel and interior rooms that include Cerebro, the Danger Room, student bedrooms and a kitchen. The exterior has the mansion's brick walls, tall windows and roof details, and the open back lets the whole school be displayed at once.

The wiring runs behind the rear wall and along the floor edges, keeping the open rooms clear. The result is a LEGO Marvel building that looks like a home from the street and something much stranger inside, which is the whole idea of the X-Mansion.
