A raccoon and a sapling

Rocket and Baby Groot are the odd couple at the centre of Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket is a genetically modified raccoon with a talent for weapons and a habit of expecting the worst; Baby Groot is a tiny tree who understands more than he can say. Their partnership works because Rocket is forced to be responsible for something fragile, and Groot keeps proving that he is less fragile than he looks.

LEGO Rocket & Baby Groot 76282 builds both characters. Rocket is a poseable figure in his blue Ravager suit, with a large blaster and a tail; Baby Groot is a smaller figure with a rounded head, leaf sprigs and a pot. The two are mounted on a display base that keeps them at different heights, so the size difference is part of the composition.

ZENE Bricks User-friendly light kit for the LEGO Rocket & Baby Groot 76282 gives each character a different temperature. Rocket's blaster and the tips of his equipment take a cool blue-white Bright light, while Baby Groot's eyes and the inside of the pot receive a warm amber glow. The base gets a low neutral wash, and a small green accent catches Groot's leaves.

The wiring runs through the base and up behind Rocket's legs, keeping the figures clear. Both characters remain removable, and the blaster can still be aimed. It is a LEGO Marvel display that works as a small scene rather than two separate figures, and the lighting makes the relationship between them visible after dark.

The LEGO Rocket Baby Groot #76282 is from new Marvel suits will be coming in 2024, including Rocket Raccoon and Baby Groot suits, mechas, vehicles, and even the expanded version of 76261 Spider-Man Armageddon, which features the "Guardians of the Galaxy." A fan-favorite character. Some users have called the Marvel model "nightmare fuel", commenting that it "looks cursed" and "seems to have become... "looks like a rat", however Lego set 75371 Chewbacca was originally described as a "demon of sleep paralysis" and has received thousands of collectibles. It may take some time for the changes in style and design to gain acceptance.
ZENE's lighting has put a lot of thought into this work. Decorated in pink, it makes it less scary. The lighting of rocket guns and laser guns enhances the scene and makes it lively and story-telling. The Guardians of the Galaxy character sets match Marvel's other characters.
