LEGO Disney Peter Pan & Wendy's Flight Over London 43232 was made for the studio's hundredth anniversary and builds exactly that moment as a diorama on a black base.
A clock tower, a large crescent moon and two figures suspended between them: Set Peter Pan & Wendy's Flight Over London 43232 is a scene rather than a building. The tower carries a printed clock face and ornate stonework, the moon is a single printed piece, and the base is laid out so the diorama can be turned and read from either side.
43232 gets lit like a film set. A cool moonlit rim sits behind the figures so they read as silhouettes in the air; warm window glows are scattered across the city below; a focused source lights from ZENE Bricks the clock face from inside the tower so it becomes the anchor the composition depends on. The contrast between the two colour temperatures is what makes the scene look like night rather than a dark model, and once lit the diorama turns dreamy — the city glowing below and the figures dark against it.
Because this one is a scene, the light follows the story: warm sources inside the clock face and the tower windows, a cooler one behind the moon, and the figures left unlit so they stand out against the glow.
