The remote control works up to 10 m and can operate several lights at once.
This costume is full of creativity and design, making it a perfect collectible or gift. Halloween is just around the corner, and this creation is definitely the superstar of this year's Halloween celebration. ZENE Bricks' light kit for the LEGO Ideas Katrina (21372) gives this model a dramatic edge. The already excellent design is further enhanced by her towering black dress, skull face, bright magenta shoulder line, delicate floral embellishments, and iconic hat, all contributing to her terrifying yet alluring charm. Warm amber lighting around the hat and corset, cool blue lighting near the skirt, and bright accents around the base make this Halloween doll stand out from head to toe.
Tips: You can pose your arms in your favorite dance style or make fun gestures.
What really gets me with this light kit is that it doesn’t just blast the whole build with LEDs and call it a day. The lighting is placed where it actually adds something, and that makes a huge difference.
Around the brim of the hat, a soft warm-yellow glow falls across the forehead and cheekbones of the skull mask. It gives the face way more depth without washing out the white brick texture or getting harsh in your eyes. Then you’ve got these tiny orange glows tucked into the flowers on the outfit, around the waist, and across the hat. They almost feel like little Día de los Muertos candles worked into the build. Super subtle, but the vibe is absolutely there.
Down at the bottom of the dress, the cool-blue lighting is probably my favorite touch. It traces the floral patterns and skull details around the skirt and helps the whole silhouette separate from a dark shelf or nighttime setup. That blue honestly does a lot of heavy lifting.
Then there are the smaller lit details around the chest and butterflies. With the black base of the figure, you’d think all those colors might start fighting each other, but they really don’t. The magenta around the shoulders, orange flower accents, warm facial lighting, and cool blue along the skirt all sit in their own zones.
Nothing turns into one giant RGB mess. It just looks clean.
La Catrina has never really been about horror. She’s elegant, colorful, a little dramatic, and deeply tied to celebration and remembrance. That’s where this lighting setup gets the mood right. Once it’s on, the build feels less spooky and more like a small candlelit tribute.
And yeah, as builders, we all know the real question: can you hide the wires without making the model look modded to death?
ZENE Bricks did a pretty solid job here.
That part is kind of the whole win here. The lighting feels added to the model, not slapped on top of it.
This is one of those builds where you turn the lights on “just to check it out” and then… yeah, you probably leave them on.
Put it next to seasonal decorations, on a bookshelf, beside a gaming setup, or anywhere with slightly dimmer ambient lighting and it just hits different. The mask stays readable, the flowers still pop, and the lower skirt lighting keeps the whole figure visible without needing the room lights cranked up.
It has that nice sweet spot where the lighting is noticeable from across the room, but there are still enough small details that you’ll catch something new when you walk past it.
For LEGO fans who already appreciate Día de los Muertos design, this also makes a seriously nice gift. It doesn’t change what makes the original build special. It just gives La Catrina a nighttime version of herself — and yeah, that version goes pretty hard.
