The remote control works up to 10 m and can operate several lights at once.

A Wall Worth Leaving On

This setup makes the most sense on a living-room wall, beside a reading chair, in a studio, or anywhere the original build tends to fade once the main lights are off. Leave the room slightly dim and the frame becomes a warm outline while the smaller colored points keep pulling your eye back into the artwork. It also works as an unusually thoughtful gift for someone who already owns The Kiss 31221 and wants a night display that still feels like art, not a neon display setup bolted onto a painting.

Gold After Sundown

Made for LEGO Art Gustav Klimt – The Kiss 31221, this ZENE Bricks light kit treats the build more like wall art than a shelf model. Once the room goes dim, the frame picks up a warm perimeter glow and the gold-heavy composition starts catching light at different depths. It feels closer to how decorative art behaves under gallery lighting: quiet from across the room, then packed with little surprises once you walk closer. Nothing gets blasted white, and the original mustard, tan, pink, black, green, and metallic tones still do the heavy lifting. The whole thing is pleasantly low-key from ten feet away, but the closer you get, the more those small lighting choices start to land.

Light Inside the Pattern

The strongest effect is the warm frame lighting. It traces the outer edge with an even amber line, giving the whole piece a soft halo against a dark wall without turning the border into a giant light bar. Inside the artwork, smaller LEDs are tucked into selected flowers and circular motifs. White points around the faces and floral area pick out tiny petals without bleaching the pale pink brickwork nearby. Magenta and blue accents sit deeper in the patterned sections, so the flower clusters feel richer instead of becoming random RGB spots. The green lights hidden around the dark circular hair section are especially nice in person; they peek through the surrounding shapes and disappear again as you change viewing angle. On the robe, warm backlighting behind several concentric gold circles creates a stained-glass kind of depth, with brighter centers and softer amber rings spreading across neighboring tiles. That lighting matters because The Kiss is already built around dense ornament. Klimt’s embracing figures almost dissolve into squares, spirals, circles, flowers, and gold. The LEDs follow that same logic, picking a few motifs to catch your eye while leaving plenty of shadow between them. The brick colors stay readable, the black geometric blocks remain black, and the gold areas keep their texture instead of washing into flat yellow.

Wires Stay Out

That restraint also makes the installation feel right for an art set. ZENE Bricks uses ultra-fine wires that can slip between layered sections, behind decorative pieces, and along the frame where thicker leads would be obvious. Once routed, the cabling stays out of the artwork’s raised elements and avoids interfering with the built-in hanging and display structure. You are not fighting wires every time you adjust the piece, and nothing needs to sit awkwardly proud of the surface just to clear a cable. The same hidden routing keeps the close-up details clean; at normal viewing distance, the LEDs look like part of the composition rather than electronics sitting on top of it. That is a big deal here because the LEGO version already relies on real depth to reinterpret Klimt’s painted ornament. The light catches those physical layers differently: a flower edge throws a tiny shadow, a circular tile reflects a warm rim, and the pink brickwork around the couple shifts gently between highlight and shade. No harsh hotspot dominates the faces, so the mood stays calm instead of turning into a novelty lamp.

Light

Night Wall Display

Dim-room lighting turns the build into a calm wall feature, with enough contrast for late-night viewing without drifting into arcade-style illumination.

Easy on the Eyes

LED placement favors reflected light over direct glare, which matters when this piece hangs near a sofa, desk, or other close viewing spot.

Hidden Wire Routing

Ultra-fine leads disappear behind layered sections and along the frame, keeping the raised artwork clean and leaving the hanging structure free from snags.

Gold Circles Hold Texture

Backlit concentric motifs pick up warm reflections at different depths, so the printed rings and metallic-looking surfaces stay defined instead of flattening out.

Flower Lights Up Close

Tiny white, blue, and magenta points sit among floral details, adding sparkle while keeping the surrounding pink and green bricks easy to read.

Warm Frame Halo

An even amber border outlines the artwork after dark, giving the gold-heavy composition presence without making the frame itself distractingly bright.
